appear, emerge, show, loom

这些动词均有“出现”之意。

：强调公开露面，被看见。

例如：We expected him, but he never appeared.（我们等他，他却一直没来。）

：侧重缓缓出现的过程。

例如：The submarine at last emerged.（那艘潜艇终于浮出了水面。）

：语气较强，强调“露出来”。

例如：The sky began to show red in the early morning.（清晨天空呈现出一片红色。）

：指朦胧出现，好像从雾中浮现出来一样。

例如：Behind the presumptuous General loom the illustrious Marshal Petain.（在这位跋扈的将军背后隐然可见很有名气的贝当元帅的身影。）
